How do I share resources?

A resource can be either a Fluid, a Geometry or a whole Project. For Gold and Platinum licence holders, a resource can also be a Mixture.

There are two ways to share resources:

Resource copy:

• Go to File > Manage and locate the Project, Fluid, Geometry or Mixture.
• Right click on the resource and select the option "Send copy to..."
• Fill in the email address of the recipient. This must be the email address of a registered AHED user with an active licence.
• The recipient will receive a notification email. Upon acceptance of the shared resource, a copy of the original resource will be made available for his/her own use.
• Warning: This method would make an additional copy of the original user resource. This means there will be two different resources that could be modified and evolve differently in the future if each user modifies his/her own copy of it.

Resource share:

• Go to File > Manage and locate the Project, Fluid, Geometry or Mixture.
• Right click on the resource and select the option "Share with..."
• A list of user groups appears of which you are a member.
• Select any user group you want to share the resource with.
• All users in these groups now have access to this resource and can view or edit according to their user rights in these groups.
• Warning: This method does not make a copy. The original object is shared and according to other users' permissions in the target group they might be able to overwrite (or even delete) your resource. If this is not the desired behaviour you can use the "Resource copy" option.
